Jodie (JoAnn)'s Story

Attended DVC and worked at Sun Valley Mall until I got my AA Degree. Moved to Portland, Oregon for 5 years, then back to Concord in 1979. Transferred to San Francisco, working for what became First Interstate Bank. Met my husband Don in a vanpool, commuting to SF. Married in 1982. William was born in 1984 and Megan in 1985. They both attended YVHS, having some of the same teachers we had. (My husband also attended YV 1/2 way through his junior year and graduated the same year as my sister Karol, in 1972). Moved to Livermore in 1985, then back to Concord in 1991, when I started working for my folks at Brookview Mobile Home Park. Mom and Dad built the Park on the family property where we grew up, on Monument Blvd. Brother David passed away in 1993 and Dad in 2012. Mom is 91, still living in the same home in the park. Karol manages the park, and I retired in December 2012. Lived in ...Expand for more
Danville for 8 years before moving to Brentwood in 2014 and lived in Trilogy at the Vineyards, a beautiful adult resort-style living right next to John Marsh's home at the SW corner of Brentwood, where Marsh Creek road drops in. My folks actually owned a 15 acre peach orchard in Brentwood in the mid 1950's, not far from where we lived. They were the first U-Pick farmers. Traveling, photography and genealogy occupies my time. Son William and family, including 7 year old and 3 year old grandsons, moved to North Carolina June 2018 and we followed in Sept. Daughter Megan works for a life insurance company in Pleasant Hill and is transferring in June to Charlotte, NC (30 minutes south of where we live), her fiance to follow. We moved into another Trilogy (Lake Norman) and live 35 minutes from William. We are happy with our move to Denver, NC and mainly miss our friends and family,

I’m not sure if this is the front of the Basilica or the rear. The tower of St. Barnabus (the four towers), the temple of Sagrada Familia, is completed in 1925.

Side street with souvenir shops and fast food restaurants.
The front entrance? The four bell towers were completed in 1930. My back is to a small lake and park.

This side is along a Main Street with shops.
The towers are dedicated to the twelve apostles, the first bishops of the church. For this reason they are crowned by pinnacles with the Episcopal symbols: the mitre, the crozier, the cross and the ring.

Haven’t figured out if this is the front or back entrance. This faces a busy street.
Stairs to Metro.

Across the street from one entrance is a children’s park on the other side of the shrubs and a promenade right next to it with benches lining the sides, food trucks and some people selling souvenirs.
Main living area, doors opened to the street, note knobs and handles to open French doors in next photo.
